Audiences young and old will see a new generation taking the stage this weekend in the Community Children’s Theatre production of Fiddler on the Roof, Jr.

Among the cast of 46, are Eureka area students Josiah Springer and Baylee Baxter.

More than fourty years years ago, audiences on Broadway first heard the unforgettable songs of Fiddler on the Roof – from the booming lines of “Tradition” to the hauntingly beautiful “Sunrise, Sunset.”

The creative minds of recently deceased Jerry Bock (composer) and Joseph Stein (author of Fiddler) have left a musical legacy that has charmed generations.  This show has all the perpetual favorites such as “Matchmaker” and “If I Were a Rich Man,” but sung by younger folks. \

This show is directed by Bryan Blanks and is suitable for the entire family.

Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. will be at Peoria Players Theatre with evening performances on Nov. 11 through 13 at 7 p.m. and afternoon performances on Nov. 13 and 14 at 1:30 p.m. The performance on Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. will be signed for the hearing impaired.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children 12 and under. Group rates are also available.

Tickets can be purchased at www.artspartners.net and the Glen Oak Park Pavilion. To learn more about the show, visit www.peoriaparks.org or call 681-2861.
