Peoria Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man who committed an armed robbery and briefly kidnapped a woman from the Wal Mart on Allen Road late last month.

At approximately 7:20 pm on Oct. 25, a woman was getting into her car in the parking lot of Wal Mart on Allen Road when a male opened the passenger door and leaned in asking if she had a cellular telephone.  The suspect quickly climbed into the passenger seat of the vehicle and asked if the victim had any money.

The man then ordered the victim to an ATM machine across the street from the parking lot and forced her to withdraw money using her ATM card.

After the transaction was complete the suspect told the victim to drive and they headed South on Allen Road. The suspect directed the driver to a neighborhood near the intersection of Allen Road and Willow Knolls where he exited the vehicle and fled.

The Peoria Police Department enlisted the help of a sketch artist from the Division of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-twenties between 5’10” and 6’tall and weighing approximately 150 to 170 pounds with brown eyes.  At the time of the incident he had brown, shaggy hair and was clean shaven, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on this crime or suspect is asked to contact the Peoria Police Department at 673-4521 or Crime Stoppers at 673-9000.
