Those who volunteer to make somebody’s hospital stay a little brighter will be able to earn themselves a chance for a day at Disney at the same time.

The Community of Caregivers at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Illinois is holding a community card making session for its Cards That Care program, which provides cards to patients throughout the year. Community groups, organizations, and individuals are invited to a community card making day.

The event is 9 a.m.-3 p.m.Saturday in the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Glen Oak building – 7th floor auditorium.

A new component to the Cards That Care program is OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Illinois’ participation in Disney’s Give A Day Get A Day promotion.

By volunteering at the card making day for a minimum of two hours, the volunteer and each family member over the age of 6 who volunteers will earn a 1-day, 1-theme park ticket to the Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort, free!

The hospital will have basic card making supplies – but encourage volunteers to bring additional supplies that would make your cards unique and special. Some suggested themes: Thinking of You, Get Well, Just to Brighten Your Day, Holiday Greetings, New Baby, Sending Thoughts/Prayers Your Way.

Cards should be appropriate for distribution to any patient.
