Gas prices falling in area

Retail gasoline prices in Peoria have fallen 7.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.83 gallon yesterday.
This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.87 gallon, according to gasoline price Web site PeoriaGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Peoria during the past week, prices yesterday were
55.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 12.4 cents per gallon
lower than a month ago.
The national average has increased 0.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 58.4 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago.
