Gas prices fall

Average retail gasoline prices in the Greater Peoria Area have fallen 5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.65 gallon yesterday.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.71 gallon, according to gasoline price website PeoriaGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Peoria during the past week, prices yesterday were 18.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 1.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has increased just 0.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 19.4 cents per gallon higher than this day a year ago.
