Gas prices on the rise

The average retail gasoline prices in Peoria have risen 4.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.76 a gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy.com.

This compares with the national average that has increased 3.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.72 a gallon, according to gasoline price website PeoriaGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Peoria during the past week, prices yesterday were 32.8 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 4.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

The national average has decreased 3.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 16.0 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
