The Illinois Department of Transportation announced motorists should expect lane reductions on the I-74 ramps to IL 116 in East Peoria as well as lane reductions on IL 116 at the I-74 intersection this week.

These lane reductions are necessary for traffic signal work and will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day.

The Illinois Department of Transportation also announced milling work will begin on IL 26 from Spring Bay to IL 116 in Woodford and Tazewell counties beginning Thursday, weather permitting.

Paving and striping operations will follow the milling work. This project is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Finally, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced crews will be performing routine inspections of the Murray Baker Bridge from Monday, Sept. 27 through about Friday, Oct. 8.

Traffic on I-74 at the bridge will be restricted to one lane in both directions 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Motorists should plan accordingly.
