“Sarah’s Garden” to be Master Gardener Presentation at Eureka Library at 6:30 p.m. May 10.

McLean County Master Gardener Donna Thiel will present “Sarah’s Garden”, a unique visual “visit”  to the gardens surrounding the David Davis mansion in Bloomington, IL. The presentation is free and open to anyone interested. Call the library at 467-2922 to register.

Sarah’s Garden, patterned after the 17th century classical Italian gardens and the formal English gardens of the 18th century, was unique throughout the Midwest. Today’s garden remains consist to the original design, with pathways, flowerbeds and some plants dating back to the creation of the garden in 1872.

The Master Gardener programs hosted at the Eureka Public Library are provided by the Woodford County Master Gardeners, part of the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener program.
