Many people who work in businesses that serve food have a Food Safety Manager Certificate.

These certificates are good for five years, and after that time need to be renewed. One way to renew the certificate is to take a five-hour refresher course before the certificate expires.

This five-hour refresher course focuses on sanitation, health, personal hygiene and safe food handling practices. University of Illinois Extension and the Woodford County Health Department are offering this course.

The course meets the re-certification standards required by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The course will be offered 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Aug. 24, at the University of Illinois Extension Office, 117 West Center, Eureka. The fee for the course is $40.00

The deadline to register is Aug. 17. To register or for more information contact: University of Illinois Extension Office, Woodford County at 467-3789.
