Railway history convention coming
The Chicago & North Western Historical Society is making a four-day stop from May 19-22 at the Embassy Suites for its 2011 National Convention.
Each year, the group meets in a city with historic rail interest. They visit railroad museums and tour rail sites. Peoria’s Wheels O’ Time Museum, Rock Island Depot and other local rail sites, including the Peoria & Western, are just a few of the featured tours attendees have the opportunity to visit.
As part of this convention, a scale model railroad swap meet will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Embassy Suites Conference Center, River F Room. The event is open to the public. Admission is $3. For more information and to make a table reservation, contact Bob Pearson at (847)-583-0018 or email@example.com.
