The Eureka United Methodist Church Praise and Worship Choir will present its annual Faith and Freedom Concert at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 3 at the church, 208 N. Callender St., Eureka.  The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert titled “The Spirit of America” focuses on five attitudes and characteristics that have made Americans unique throughout their history: the spirit of freedom, the spirit of adventure, the spirit of hope, the spirit of sacrifice and the spirit of divine purpose. The musical was written by Sue C. Smith and Russell Mauldin and arranged and orchestrated by Mauldin.     Musical selections will include “The Spirit of America,” “This Is My Country,” “Sweet Freedom’s Song,” “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee,” “The American Way,” Neil Diamond’s “America,” “Salute to the Armed Services” and “God Be Our Guide.”  The concert will feature accompanying video.

The Faith and Freedom Concert has been presented annually since 2005. The entire service is devoted to recognizing and honoring God and the foundations of freedom established by America’s forefathers and protected by America’s military, said Tracy Martz, who directs the 20-member choir. Besides music, the program will feature the presentation of the colors and a tribute to veterans. A prelude of patriotic music featuring vocalists and instrumentalists will begin at 8:45 a.m.
