Gas prices fall; still above national average

Average retail gasoline prices in Peoria have fallen 9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.71 per gallon yesterday.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 4.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.66 per gallon, according to gasoline price website PeoriaGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Peoria during the past week, prices yesterday were 96.3 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 23.7 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 19.0 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 92.7 cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
