Illinois River Sweep Sept. 17

Illinois River Sweep, an annual one-day cleanup event on the Illinois River, will take place Sept. 17.

People can pre-register by calling 686-3360 and get a free T-shirt, or register at Forest Park Nature Center in Peoria Heights at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event.

Sweep hours are from 9 a.m.-noon, and there will be a picnic immediately following.
