Taking Back Sunday to perform at Bradley

The Activities Council of Bradley University announced its fall concert featuring the rock band Taking Back Sunday, performing at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Renaissance Coliseum. The concert is presented as part of Bradley University’s Homecoming celebrations.

Following nearly a decade of commercial success, Taking Back Sunday is back on tour following the release of their self titled album this past summer. Taking Back Sunday reunites all the members of the original band first featured on the band's platinum selling debut album Tell All Your Friends. Since the release of Tell All Your Friends, Taking Back Sunday has released three more studio albums, which have sold over two million copies, headlined arenas, toured multiple times in amphitheaters with bands such as Linkin Park, Weezer and Blink-182, and shared Festival Stages with the likes of The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead and Phoenix. 

In August of 2011 they performed on the main stage at Reading and Leeds festivals for the fourth time.

Touring with Taking Back Sunday is the alternative rock band The Maine. Formed in 2007 in Tempe, Arizona, The Maine has released two full length albums, Can't Stop Won't Stop and Black & White, and toured the country with Van's Warped Tour and with the likes of Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte, and Never Shout Never. The Maine is currently recording their third album.

Rock-fusion band Bad Rabbits will open the show.

Bradley University students, faculty and staff can purchase tickets now at the Renaissance Coliseum Box Office. Tickets for the general public will go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 21. Athletic Ticket Office in the Renaissance Coliseum and all Ticketmaster locations. All seating is reserved and tickets are $30.

As the main programming board of Bradley University, ACBU brings live entertainment to campus, including musicians, comedians and lecturers. Traditional events such as Homecoming, Siblings Weekend, Spring Fling and Parents Weekend are also sponsored by ACBU. Ten student-run committees are responsible for the coordination of all performances, events and activities.
