Sewers who attend the Nov. 17 meeting of the Woodford County Sewing Guild will make lavender sachets to give as gifts or to add a refreshing fragrance to their own homes.

All materials will be supplied by the guild and there is no charge. The meeting will be held at the Farm Bureau Building, 117 W. Center St. in Eureka at 7 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Meeting the third Thursday of each month, the Sewing Guild brings together women who like to work with needles (or hooks) and thread (or yarn). The low-key meetings are filled with new and old  ideas and much laughter.

The next meeting will be Jan. 19 when the subject will be the history of buttons. Participants may bring buttons that they find meaningful or beautiful for the show-and-tell portion of the meeting.
