Do you have an interest in gardening?  Would you like to learn more? Let U of I Extension help you learn about horticulture and the way you can help others learn to grow.  Applications will be accepted through December 1, 2011 to be part of the 2012 Master Gardener training classes held in Pekin, IL beginning in January 2012.

Training is one day a week for ten weeks, and an on line training option is available. There is a fee for training.  At the end of the training, Master Gardener trainees will be asked to complete 60 hours of volunteer service in local projects to transition to active Master Gardener.

Area Master Gardeners are involved with many local projects and impact others through community gardens, school projects, civic and church presentations, horticulture hotlines, and much more.  All involved share their knowledge with others.

To be considered for the 2012 training class, or for additional information please contact Julia Pryor, University of Illinois Extension Program Coordinator and Master Gardener at jpryor@illinois.edu or call 543-3308.
