Read what community blogger "Peoria Peepers" has to say:
(Note: Peoria Peepers uses a nickname to remain anonymous so she will not be recognized when she goes to a restaurant.)
I grew up in Chillicothe, then lived in Peoria for several years and now live in Tazewell County with my husband and an energetic black lab. I am currently involved with technical support and graphic design.
The idea for my blog came about when my husband and I were on a vacation in Michigan several years ago and asked a local where there were any shops in town. She said "Shops...? Well, there used to be shops, before Wal-Mart came to town."
Shortly thereafter Wal-Mart opened super centers in Morton and Washington and it became apparent to me that in order to continue to enjoy small mom and pop businesses, we need to make an effort to support them. I started "Support your local central Illinois businesses" as a way to bring attention to restaurants and shops in the area.
