Extension offers food safety refresher course for managers
Have you checked your food handler’s license expiration date lately? Do you need to renew your Illinois Department of Public Health Food Safety Service Sanitation Managers Certification within the next few months? If so, you can attend the five-hour re-certification refresher course to be held on March 8 at the Woodford County Extension Office, 117 W. Center St. in Eureka from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be on your own or you can bring a sack lunch.
This five-hour course meets the re-certification requirements set by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
“Anyone who holds a valid Food Service Managers Certificate that expires within the next year should plan to attend this refresher course,” according to Jenna Smith, nutrition and wellness education expert with University of Illinois Extension. Smith is a certified instructor licensed through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Cost for the workshop is $40 and the registration deadline is March 6. To register, call the Woodford County Extension office at 467-3789. A photo ID is required at registration time. Participants need to bring their certificates. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, call 467-3789.
