Peoria Symphony performing Latin Monday at Eureka College

The Peoria Symphony Chamber Players will perform a concert titled “Contemporary Latin American Music” at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Cerf Center.

The program will include “Schoenberg no ha muerto” by Juan Ignacio Lopez, “Rayuela Preludes” by Reinaldo Moya, “Cuaderno de Viaje” by Mario Lavista, “Ballade, opus 15” by Teresa Carreno, “Assobio a Jato” by Heitor Villa-Lobos and  “Sonata for Flute and Piano” by Samuel Zyman.

Performers will be Kyle Dzapo, flute; John Orfe, piano; and Adriana La Rosa Ransom, cello.

The concert is part of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra’s “Peoria: An International Community Celebration.”

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.   

The concert is among five performances by the Peoria Symphony Chamber Players at Eureka College this academic year.  

The final performance will be “The Genius of Beethoven” at 7:30 p.m. April 19 in the Cerf Center.

The Peoria Symphony Chamber Players is comprised of rotating members of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra with a passion for chamber music and chamber orchestra repertoire.
