Challenge round winners announced

Winners for TimesNewspapers’ College Basketball Challenge contest have been announced.

The Round 3 winner is Roger Tate of Washington and the Round 4 winner is Alex McGlaughlin of Washington.

 Log onto the contest at to participate.

Participants choose the best brackets in the Round by Round competition.

The biggest prize in this competition is $1 million for the contestant submitting a perfect bracket in this contest. The prize will be shared among any other perfect brackets submitted nationwide in this competition.

Other prizes include $10,000 for only missing 1 or 2 picks, $1,000 for only missing 3 picks.

In the event of a tie in the bracket contest, prize winnings are split. See official rules for full details.

Participants pick winners for each round of the tournament up to 15 minutes prior to the start of each round.

Participants must select a winner for each game of the round or the entry will not be accepted.  

The participant who picks the most correct games in each round will be deemed the round winner, subject to verification.

Besides the national prizes, there will also be local prizes awarded each week.
