Julie Hendricks, administrative coordinator for the Illinois Mennonite Heritage Center, will be speaking at the Eureka Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Monday on “Using Local Resources for Genealogy and Local History.”

Hendricks will provide information on how to use a variety of local resources such as libraries, and public records available through the Heritage Center.

The presentation includes online options that are available when working with family history searches and researching past local events. Collecting and working with oral histories is also an important part of family genealogy and Hendricks will talk about that, and provide handouts, including genealogy forms to help those who are just beginning to explore their family history.
