Illinois National Guard gets new commander

Maj. Gen. Dennis Celletti of Springfield has been named acting Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard. Celletti took the oath of office Thursday after Maj. Gen. William Enyart of Belleville announced his retirement from the Illinois National Guard.

Celletti has been the Assistant Adjutant General (ATAG)-Army and commander of the Illinois Army National Guard since Oct. 1, 2005. He was the first ATAG in Illinois history to earn the rank of major general. Celletti enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in 1972.
