There is no need to feel bored this summer when you could be playing board games with your friends.

Come to the Metamora Branch of Illinois Prairie District Library from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday afternoons anytime starting June 7 until July 19 and join the fun playing board games. There will be several different games to choose from.

Story Hours for the preschoolers are held at the Metamora Branch at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays from June 12 to July 19.

Three to 6 year olds will enjoy listening to stories and working on crafts.

From 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoons the library will offer craft projects for children from around 6 to 10 years old. Sample crafts will be displayed and supplies will be available for a different project each week.

All of the activities are free. Registration for these programs is helpful for an adequate amount of supplies, but not required.

While at the library, children from 3 years old to eighth grade will want to register for the summer reading program, Reading Is So Delicious. This program starts on June 4 and continues until July 21.

View the library website at or come to the Metamora Branch for more details. Also check the branches at Benson, Germantown Hills, Roanoke, Spring Bay, and Washburn for their individual events.
