Rush, Crow honored as co-presidents

At the 97th Convention of GFWC Illinois 17th District held in Metamora on April 19, Arlene Rush and Jo Crow were commemorated for their service as co-presidents of the district for the past two years.
Since “Education—The Key to the Future” was their theme in Woman’s Club and since both women were teachers in the area for many years, they were presented with two books which were then donated to the Metamora Branch of Illinois Prairie District Public Library in their names.
“Big Book of Science Experiments” was the title of the book honoring Crow, the former science teacher at Metamora Grade School.
Rush has had a lifelong interest in the arts and was honored with the book, “Drawing With Children.”
On behalf of the 17th District, Metamora Co-President and Illinois Prairie Librarian Sandy Madsen presented the women with their books.
