“Edible Fiction, Edible Film,” a book discussion group, is one of the summer activities available to adult readers at Eureka Public Library this summer.

The book group begins in June with a discussion about “Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously” by Julie Powell.

Those desiring to be part of the discussion group are encouraged to read Julie and Julia and watch the movie to prepare for the discussion held at EPLD at 9 a.m. Monday.

The discussion will also be offered at 6:30 p.m. June 28. The movie is available for check-out from the library and will also be shown at the library at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Julie and Julia was based on the author’s desire to be more like her cooking idol, Julia Child while she struggled to escape the pain and frustration of her “real world” job. Powell’s book was published in 2005 with the film following in 2009.

For more information about this program, to register or to request the book, call the library at 467-2922.
