The GFWC Illinois Metamora-Germantown Hills Junior Woman’s Club will display “The Avenue of Flags” in the Metamora Park on the Square, weather permitting, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on July 4th.

Each flag is flown in honor of a veteran. Those names are encased and on display in the front of the park.

Two hundred and twenty-four flags will line the front, back, and sides of the park, as well as the interior sidewalks.

The Junior Woman’s Club is asking anyone who would be willing to help put up or take the flags down, to meet at the Metamora Square at 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Flags are still available for purchase. The price of the flags, complete, is $40 each.

Anyone interested in purchasing one of these flags may contact Cathy Gregait at 367-9394.
