River City Rhapsody July 11 in Metamora

For the third year, Metamora will be one of only three cities in the Midwest to host the “River City Rhapsody” Drum and Bugle Corp Exhibition this summer.  

The gates open at 5 p.m. July 11, with the event starting at 7 p.m. on Malone Field at Metamora High School.

Known as “Music’s Major League,” drum and bugle corp shows offer spectacular audio and visual excitement, providing great family entertainment to the communities they visit.

Performing in this year’s show will be six of the world’s best drum and bugle corps, including Blue Stars (La Crosse, Wis.), Phantom Regiment (Rockford), Madison Scouts (Madison, Wis.), Spirit of Atlanta (Atlanta), Cascades (Seattle), and Colt Cadets (Dubuque, Iowa).

According to the Blue Stars’ website, “Members learn through teamwork, dedication, a strong work ethic, setting goals, and discipline, that success can be achieved both on and off the performance field.”  An exciting event for the whole family, do not miss this great opportunity to witness the thrilling results of their dedication.
