Summer reading program in final week at library
Readers have one more week to munch and crunch through books and activities during the Summer Reading Program at the Eureka Public Library.
Readers can make a food box for recipes and other items at Make-it Take-it on Monday. Crafters can go to the library anytime between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. to create their food box.
Preschoolers ages 3 through kindergarten will be at the library for Story Time at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mindy Louck will be the Story Time guest, followed by a food craft and a special surprise.
Munch-a-Lunchers will meet at the Upper Lake Park on July 11 for the final Munch-A-Lunch Picnic Bunch of the season. Readers who have completed grades 1 through 6 should take lunch, a drink and something to sit on to the park at 11:30 a.m. for “Picnic and Play.”
Movie and Popcorn will finish off the week at 1 p.m. July 12. Featured presentation will be “The Apple Dumpling Gang.” Movie-goers can take a drink and popcorn will be provided.
Readers can turn in Week 6 book logs for prizes and pick up new coloring sheets and word activities. Last day to turn in book logs is July 20.
Books with science experiments will be on display for readers to check out and take home. Other activity books will also be available to check out for more fun activities to do at home.
Following the last week of Summer Reading, readers should check at the library for more ways to “keep on reading” for tickets for sports teams, free books and other prizes.
Anyone with questions about Summer Reading can call the library at 467-2922.
