Individuals who participate in the Illinois Circuit Breaker and/or Illinois Cares Prescription Drug programs must sign up annually. Tom Eckert has been providing help with the paperwork and he will continue to do so this year at EPLD.

Circuit Breaker is designed to provide assistance with real estate taxes and rent, while the Illinois Cares program provides premium-free Medicare D coverage with minimum co-pay. Both services are limited to those 65 years of age or older, or disabled. There are also income limits on both programs.

Tom Eckert has been providing assistance at the Library with both programs for several years and will continue to be available at the Library most Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon during February and March. Making an appointment is suggested and can be done by calling Tom at 467-2754.
