Fire struck the Hair Improvements Styling Center Oct. 31.

Eureka Goodfield Fire Protection District Chief Craig Neal said the call was dispatched at 6:16 p.m. A damage estimate was not available the morning of Nov. 1.

Neal said the cause was also still under investigation.

The fire took two hours to knock down with help from departments in Roanoke and Washington.

Neal called the fire "stubborn."

"It was a difficult fire. The structure had a second roof and an addition," Neal said.

"There was a lot of smoke. It seems like we had to chase the fire. The fire played hide-and-seek with us."
