Eureka College fellowship open to all majors

The former Eureka College Ministry Fellowship has been renamed the Disciples Leadership Program at Eureka College and will accept students from all majors.

Formerly the fellowship was awarded only to students who intended to enter the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

“The program is broadening its mission to support exceptional Disciples students of all majors and vocational tracks,” said Eureka College Chaplain Bruce Fowlkes. “The change reflects that faithful servant-leaders are both clergy and laity, and some incoming students feel a call to serve as teachers, doctors, lawyers, artists or are still seeking a direction and yearn for a faithful environment in which to discern.”

Seminary-bound students still are encouraged to apply, Fowlkes said.

Two fellowships are awarded each year to freshmen based on leadership, academic excellence and the commitment to explore during college a life of faith-based servant leadership.

Fellows receive full tuition plus two on-site mentorships exploring service anywhere in the world. For more information, go to or contact Fowlkes at or 888-438-7352.
