Meet Your Heroes returns for 7th year

The Metamora Area Business Association and the Metamora Fire Department is holding its seventh annual Meet Your Heroes event noon-3 p.m. Sept. 13 at the town square in Metamora.  The day kicks off with the Metamora Marching Band and American Legion.

There will be grilled pork chop sandwiches, hot dogs, pork, beans chips and drink available.

Professional and non-professional hose fight competitions will be held and they are free for all.

For the kids, there will be inflatable slides and bouncy houses and those in attendance can meet the fire fighters. Kids will be able to get inside the fire truck.

There will be classic cars and trucks from the Central Illinois Cruisers.

First-place winner for the raffle will win $1,000. Tickets are one for $5 or five for $20 and will be available the day of the event from any MABA member.
