Volunteers at the Snyder Village auction and breakfast flip pancakes for those in attendance last year.

The Snyder Village Annual Benefit Auction and Pancake & Sausage Breakfast will take place on Sept. 20.

This annual event raised over $65,000 last year to purchase items that directly benefited the residents of Snyder Village.

“The Annual Breakfast and Auction is an opportunity for volunteers, residents and employees to work hand in hand to show their support for each other and their community. It is a time for fellowship and to raise funds to improve the quality of life for all the residents who have made Snyder Village their home,” said Mary Jo Grebner, the 2014 Auction Chair.

In addition to the Live Auction, there will be an “all-you-can-eat” Pancake and Sausage Breakfast; a village market where you can buy handmade goods, vegetables, cheeses, candies, cookies and delicious pies; and a silent auction featuring handmade art and goods, home décor, themed gift baskets and more.

Two other popular traditions on auction day

are the balloon pop game, where attendees can win gift cards with the pop of a balloon, and the lucky card draw, where the winner can choose almost any of the items waiting for bidding.

On Sept. 18, there is an ice cream social dinner and auction preview. Ice cream, pie, sandwiches, root beer floats and other goodies will be available for purchase while enjoying bingo and browsing the auction items. People can even begin bidding on the silent auction items.

Be a part of the bidding excitement as you help Snyder Village.

Some of the items up for auction this year include a Caribbean Cruise vacation package; a one-week stay at Club Sevilla in Kissimmee, Florida; one week at Emerald Dream Vacation Home in Sea Grove, Florida; sailing on Lake Michigan; a dinner party for eight at Keith and Sandy Swartzentruber’s home; numerous autographed MLB players’ items; tickets to the St. Louis Cardinals, NASCAR, Rams, U of I, Bradley and more; a $500 gift certificate for Staley Lawn Care & Landscaping; an Ethan Allen 5-piece bedroom suite; a vintage John Deere pedal tractor; one-of-a-kind handmade quilts; hand-crafted furniture and log cabin dollhouse; antiques more.
