The Jude Hill benefit and auction held on Aug. 27 at the Monte Cristo Room in Germantown Hills was a huge community success.

The event, sponsored by the Germantown Hills Chamber of Commerce, drew a large crowd.

The Chamber was able to give a check to The Hill Family for over $23,000, and donations are still coming in.

Over 750 dinners were sold netting around $7,000; the silent auction brought in over $6,000; the collection box held over $6,300;  50/50 tickets were sold; T-shirts were sold; face painting was done; balloon characters were made, and many other donations throughout the night resulted in an eventful evening and community support to help the Hill family

In June, 3-and-a-half year old Jude Hill of Germantown Hills was severely injured in an accident when he came in contact with a riding lawn mower at his home.

This accident resulted in traumatic injury to both legs and will require extensive therapy and rehabilitation.

As Hill progresses through treatment, there will be financial needs for his family, Chamber officials said.
