Wilbur Ludeman

Wilbur L. “Bill” Ludeman, 83, of Eureka, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

Born July 20, 1926, in Peoria, to Emil and Ella Schreiber Ludeman, he married Ruth Garrels Sept. 10, 1950, in Secor. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Debra (Ron) Snyder of Eureka; Cindy (Phil) Schlachtenhaufen of Tomahawk, Wis.; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ken Ludeman; and one sister, Mary Ellen Lewellyn.

He was employed by Roanoke Concrete in Eureka, retiring in 1990.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served his country during World War II and was a member of the Eureka American Legion Post No. 466 for more than 50 years.

He was a past member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington and had served on the Eureka Fire Department.

He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 2.

The Rev. Joe Burns will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. before the start of the service at the church. Private burial of ashes will be held at Olio Township Cemetery.

Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.
