Eureka- Betty L. Sullivan, 86, of Eureka, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

Born Feb. 28, 1924, in Springfield, to Earle and Corine Cordrey Nation, she married Lawrence Sullivan Dec. 14, 1957, in Peoria. He died Feb. 22, 2007.

Surviving are one step-son, Michael J. (Cheryl) Sullivan of Carriere, Miss.; two brothers, Harold (Joyce) Whitlock of Salina, Calif.; Austin (Lisa) Benjamin of Eureka; three sisters, Shirley (Ike) Kinser of Little America; Sharon (Dave) Stafford of Eureka; Sandra Gay; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Don Nation; and one sister, Deloris Alexander Henry.

 She was the owner of Terrace Beauty Salon in Peoria and also sold houses in the Peoria area.

She attended church at the First Assembly of God in Peoria. She was a bass player in the Bonita Village Banjo Band and was a member of the Central Illinois Banjo Association.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. The Rev. Dean Grabill will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. before the service. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Maple Lawn Health Center Assembly Room. The Rev. Doug Hicks will officiate.
