GRIDLEY - John E. Schlipf, 80, of Eureka, formerly of Gridley, died at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka where he was a resident.

Born May 5, 1930, in Gridley, to John G. and Rose Aberle Schlipf, he married Carolyn Klopfenstein Feb. 16, 1958, in Gridley. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Ann (Chuck) Benson of Cascade, Colo.; Susan Schlipf of Bloomington; Nancy (Joe) Schweigert of Tremont; J.D. Schlipf of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

John was a lifelong farmer in the Gridley area.

He was a member of Gridley Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010. Church ministers will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso, and from 9-9:45 a.m. at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery.
