Obituary: Kaywin G. McClure, 88, of Eureka

Eureka - Kaywin G. McClure, 88, of Eureka, died at 7:04 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at his residence.

Born on Aug. 3, 1923, in Bloomington, to Orville J. and Lois Sutton McClure, he married Adaline M. Bell on Aug. 31, 1946, in Washington. She died on March 8, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, Robert (Lorena) McClure of Eureka; John (Ellen) McClure of Rogers, Ark.; one daughter, Marsha (Jeff) Goodale of Geneva; one brother, Harry (Jan) McClure of Peoria; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Patricia K. McClure, two brothers, and one sister.

Kaywin was a World War II veteran and worked at the First Bank of Eureka for 38 years. He was active in several community organizations. He was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and the recipient of the Scouts Silver Beaver Award.

He was a lifelong member of the Eureka Christian Church where memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Revs. Geoff Mitchell and Jennie Churchman will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka. Cremation rites will be accorded.
