Obituary: Alan Lagron, 51, Metamora

Alan R. Lagron, 51 of Bellemont, Ariz., formerly of Metamora, died at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at his residence.

Born Aug. 10, 1960 in Peoria to Ron and Pat Overturf Lagron, he married Joan Vari on March 23, 2010 in Las Vegas. She survives.

Also surviving him are his parents, Ron Lagron of Farmington and Pat Lagron of Metamora; one son, Jacob Lagron of East Peoria; one daughter, Jennifer Lagron of Metamora; one step-daughter, Caitlin Vari of Bellemont; one sister, Debbie (David Kested)Lagron of Chiefland, Fla.; and one brother, Brian (Linda) Lagron of Metamora.

Lagron graduated from Illinois Central College. He also attended business classes at Midstate College and engineering classes at Bradley University.

He worked for Hallmark Metamora Fixture Operations in Metamora as an engineer for 25 years. He later worked for Roecker Cabinets in Peoria Heights.

He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Peoria and also Peace Lutheran Church in Flagstaff, Ariz.

There will be a funeral service for Alan at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peters Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kurt Mews will officiate. There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
