Obituary: Madelyn Fehr, 85, Eureka

Madelyn Fehr, 85, of rural Eureka, died at 11:12 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012, at her residence.

Born on Jan. 15, 1927, in Deer Creek to John F., Sr. and Elizabeth Leuthold Schick, she married Richard Fehr on March 30, 1947, in Morton. He survives.

Also Surviving are six sons, Doug (Diana) Fehr of Peoria, Dave (Linda) Fehr of Morton, Paul Fehr of Eureka, John (Jane) Fehr of Roanoke, Brian Fehr of Chicago and Tracy Fehr of Eureka; one daughter-in-law, Annie Fehr of Roanoke; three sisters, Wilma (Vince) Bermel of Oakton, Va., Phyllis (Roy) Getz of Morton and Barbara (Ed) Roecker of Morton; one brother-in-law, Herman Schmidt of Morton; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Charles “Chuck” Fehr; one brother, John Schick, Jr.; and one sister, Maxine Schmidt.

She worked for 30 years at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home as an Activities Assistant. She had also worked at the ICC Bookstore, but her primary occupation was being a homemaker.

She was a member of the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Church where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Church ministers will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9-9:45 a.m. Friday before the service at the church.

Burial will be in the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Roanoke or Eureka Apostolic Christian Homes.
