Obituary: Robert Zehr, 87, Eureka

Robert “Bob” Zehr, 87, of Eureka, formerly of Flanagan, died at 7:17 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Advocate Eureka Hospital.

Born on Jan. 4, 1925, in Pontiac to Roy and Luella Lenz Zehr, he married Thelma L. Schertz on Sept. 26, 1951 in Washington. She died on Nov. 22, 2011.

Surviving are one son, Robert Steven (Joyce) Zehr of Eureka; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Bob worked as a farmer in the Flanagan area until 1955. In 1956 he moved to Eureka and worked at Ulrich Manufacturing in Roanoke. He was a maintenance worker at Eureka College then worked at DMI in Goodfield and last worked at Parsons Manufacturing in Roanoke.

He attended Living Faith Fellowship Church at Snyder Village Center in Metamora, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Brett Woerner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the family.

Private family graveside services will be held at Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery.
