Obituary: Jerry D. Daugherty, 57, Eureka

Jerry D. Daugherty, 57, of Eureka died at 5 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his residence in Eureka.

He was born on May 21, 1954, in Peoria, to Alton and Mildred Jean Cooley Daugherty. He married Lori Sauder on July 14, 1990 in Secor. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jeremy Daugherty; two daughters, Jessi Daugherty and Lynn Daugherty, all at home; two sister-in-laws, Cindy (Al) Bardeleben of Decatur and Jayme (Howard) Eigsti of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother-in-law, Jay (Michelle) Sauder of Roanoke; and his mother and father-in-law, Jim (Carol) Sauder of Roanoke.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jerry worked as an assembler for Caterpillar Inc. before he moved into management for a total of 38 years.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Secor.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka. The Rev. Joe Burns will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the church and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with arrangements.
