Obituary: Dolores Harms, 86, Metamora

Dolores C. “Dee” Harms, 86, of Metamora, died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Snyder Village in Metamora.

She was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Metamora to Leo and Lydia (Kiesewetter) Fandel.

Surviving are one son, William (Carmen) Harms of Germantown Hills; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alvena Force, Melberta (Joe) Krumholz, Agnes Parr and Marcella Obery, all of Metamora, and Suzy (Jack) Hoffman of Germantown Hills; and three brothers, John (Ruth) Fandel of Washington and Fredrick Fandel and Donald (Joan) Fandel, both of Germantown Hills.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Austin Fandel, and one sister, Eileen Miller.

She worked in shipping and packaging at Metamora Woodworking for 19 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in rural Metamora.

A funeral Mass was Monday at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church, with visitation prior. The Rev. Neri Greskoviak officiated. Burial was in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Association and Central Illinois Agency on Aging in Peoria.
