Obituary: Rose Wettstein, 93, of Eureka

Eureka - Rose Wettstein, 93, of Eureka, died at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Maple Lawn Health Center where she was a resident.     

Born May 15, 1919, in Mackinaw, to Joseph and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Sinn Weishaupt, she married Joseph Wettstein on March 3, 1941 in Kahoka, Mo. He died March 26, 1964.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna Lou Wettstein of Eureka; one son, Dean (Mary Jane) Wettstein of Eureka; two brothers, Charles “Karlie” (Jane) Weishaupt of Mackinaw; Joe (Margaret) Weishaupt of Florida; two sisters, Viola Augsburger of Chatsworth; Elsie Goeken of Delavan; two grandchildren, Frank (Shelly) Riley of Mississippi; Alicia (Dan) Endress of Morton; two great-granddaughters, and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry; three brothers, Bob, Herbert, Donald Weishaupt; and one sister, Lucille Menold.

Rose worked as a cook at Eureka College and the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.

She attended the Eureka United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9. The Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home and from 9-9:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery.
