Obituary: James D. Loomis, 40, Metamora

James D. Loomis, 40, of Metamora died at his home on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

Born on April 17, 1972, in Ypsilanti, Mich., to James and Connie Phelps Loomis, he married Angella Arnett on July 13, 1996, in Cement City, Mich. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Kaitlyn, 16, Travis, 14, and Tyler, 13, all of Metamora; his parents, Connie-Sue Bell of Brooklyn, Mich., and James (Brenda) Loomis of Harrison, Mich.; one sister, Terra (Tony) Voeks; nephews; and one brother, Joe Loomis of Washington.

He was an industrial electrician/shop manager at Illinois Crane. He was exceptionally talented with electrical skills and working with his hands.

A visitation was Friday at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora and Sunday  at Borek-Jennings Funeral Home in Brooklyn, Mich.

Funeral services were Monday at Cement City Baptist Church, with Angella’s uncle, the Rev. Ned Bernstein, officiating.

Burial will follow in Cement City Baptist Memorial Gardens.
