Obituary: Sally L. Murray, 60, Germantown Hills

Sally L. Murray, 60, of Germantown Hills,  died at 6:23 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Aug. 3, 1951, in Kewanee to John and Pauline (Broadfield) Englund, she married James Murray on April 21, 1984, in Williamsfield. He survives.

Also surviving is one daughter, Lindsay A. Murray of Roanoke; and two sisters, Sharon (Everette) Rednour of Williamsfield and Sandra (Roger) Carley of Cleveland, Tenn. She also is survived by three nephews and one niece.

Sally graduated from Williamsfield High School and attended Midstate College.

She was employed by the FBI in Springfield for eight years. She also worked at many other jobs throughout her life, including Protexall and J.C. Penney in Galesburg, Nelsons in Princeville, Walz in East Peoria, The Brimfield Doctor’s Office and Beyond Nails in Peoria.

Sally was one of the original Big Sisters of the “Big Brother/Big Sister Organization of Sangamon County.” She was a member of Williamsfield United Methodist Church.

Services were Friday at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jennifer Seder officiating. Visitation was Thurdsay at Mason Funeral Home, Germantown Hills Chapel and also one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in Willamsfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emergency 116 in Metamora, Williamsfield Rescue Squad and her church.
