Obituary: Marie Funk, 93, Metamora

Marie E. Funk, 93, of Roanoke died at 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at the Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home, where she was a resident.

Born on June 11, 1919, in Metamora to Frank and Angelina Grebner Schneider, she married Virgil L. Funk on Feb. 1, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James (Marsha) Funk of Carlock and John (Peggy) Funk of Morton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

A Funeral Mass was at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles Beebe will officiate.

Visitation was Thursday at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke.

Burial will be in Roanoke Township Cemetery.
