Obituary: Harold Miller, 96, Eureka

EUREKA — Harold J. Miller, 96, of Eureka, died at 7:38 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

Born Jan. 8, 1917, in Congerville, to Joseph and Edna Detweiler Miller, he married Lois E. Whitmer on Oct. 3, 1950, in Congerville. She survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Catherine (Frank) Hillman of Danvers, Christina (Gregory) Starr of Congerville, Cynthia (Rick) Poppe of Anna, Texas, and Carolyn (Bruce) Sutter of Bloomington; two sons, Aaron (Eileen) Miller of Keller, Texas, and Marvin Miller of Palm Bay, Fla.; one brother, Clyde Miller of Eureka; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Lawn Memorial Hall. The Rev. Phil Bachman will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Memorial Hall. Burial will be in Imhoff Cemetery in Congerville. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International or Rock Creek Bible Church in Congerville.
