Obituary: Lucile Yordy, 101, Eureka

EUREKA — Lucile M. Yordy, 101, of Eureka, formerly of Flanagan, died at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka.

Born May 20, 1911, in rural Flanagan to John E. and Laura Slagel Neuhauser, she married Vernon R. Yordy Nov. 26, 1930, in Flanagan. He died Jan. 7, 1974.

Surviving are one son, Leland (Carol) Yordy of Flanagan; two daughters, Gladys (Fred) Mengarelli of San Diego, Calif., and Beverly (Dr. John) Henderson of Peoria Heights; one sister, Mildred Beeson of Texas; one half sister, Dorothy Miller of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Yordy; two brothers, J. Milton and Kenneth Neuhauser; two sisters, LaVerne Johnson and Helen Kennell; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Yordy.

Per Lucile's request, services will be held "when the weather is nice." Cremation will be accorded. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling arrangements for the family.
