Peoria lost an individual

When Mike “Sully” Sullivan passed away a week ago today, Peoria truly lost an individual.

“Sully” was a man of dry wit.

He was ornery and obstinate.

He had a wry smile. He almost always had a black beret on with wiry hair peeking out.

He was a man of bold opinions, sometimes pushy, but always genuine.

Sullivan was a man of great imagination when it came to the hospitality business.

He knew what customers wanted and delivered it in the various establishments he ran over the years, the most recent in Peoria Heights.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines individual as: existing as a distinct entity, separate.

Sullivan certainly fit that definition.

Peoria will be a lesser place without him.
